Quail Hunts

Quail hunting in Kansas has increased dramatically over the past five years or so. This is due in part to a steady increase in the number of quail in Kansas. Kansas ranks as the TOP quail producing state in the nation, and for good reason! Quail habitat has increased with the CRP program and this has provided additional habitat for the quail, that was not previously available to them! Quail have expanded their range to include most if not all of the state. We are fortunate to have quail in good numbers in the areas that we own or lease!

Over the past few years our hunters have experienced excellent quail hunting with us. For the past few years, our hunters have had 100% harvest success on our quail only hunts. Our combination pheasant/quail hunts have also had excellent success rates. We try to work with our farmers to insure good habitat for our quail, in areas where there are already good number of birds!

Quail hunts during the regular hunting season are conducted from the second Saturday in November thru the end of January. During these hunts, we are required to follow the regulations set forth by the KDW&P, as they pertain to bag limit, sex, & species that may be harvested.

We charge $170.00 per day per hunter for this hunt, which includes a guide(s), dogs, noon lunch, and private hunting leases. You will need to provide your own lodging, additional meals (breakfast, & supper), transportation to Russell, and all the equipment associated with the hunt (gun, shells, clothing, etc.)! You are welcome to bring your own dog(s), but they must be under control at all times. They should also be able to hunt within 30 - 35 yards and not range to much further!! Bird cleaning IS Included
